EIGHT KEYS TO A LIFE OF PEACE, FREEDOM & LOVE from the Genius of Jesus Series

Many say that Jesus Christ was a great moral teacher. They may not be sure about His divinity or whether He was really the Son of God, but they seem to respect Him.

But, maybe you don’t consider yourself a ‘religious’ person. Maybe you’re not even sure there is a God. So, you might already be thinking, “Come on! Do I really need to hear some ancient teacher’s take on life.? These times are totally different, and besides I can figure things out for myself.”

Well, if for just a few minutes, we are willing to consider Jesus as a great moral teacher then it makes sense to explore what He taught and what He had to say about life. Jesus once said that His words are life.

And, if we are willing to give Him a listen, we can always walk away thinking that Jesus was unrealistic or worse, that He was crazy...OR we might just conclude that His wisdom contains words to truly live by. We might even come away thinking that His teachings are genius.

If we were asked to describe the best quality of life – the healthiest most fulfilling kind of life – high on our list would likely be contentment. Another quality we’d probably list is the power to realize our full potential. And most of us also want fulfilling relationships. We can boil down these three qualities of life down to three simple words: peace, freedom and love.

So, if Jesus’ was right, and His words are life then applying them to our lives should help us experience peace –an inner contentment; we would expect His teachings to help us experience genuine freedom – the power to realize our full potential; and we would want His teachings to help us experience love in fulfilling relationships!

Promising these three things - peace, freedom and love - was exactly what Jesus offered at the beginning of His public ministry! The phrase Jesus used to capture these qualities of life was The Kingdom of Heaven. “Turn around,” Jesus said,  ‘for The Kingdom of Heaven is now available to you.
